I had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Elizabeth and her mother, Cheryl, when they attended a January/February Stitchin' Mission. I'm always delighted when a mother/daughter take the classes together. Most often, younger girls in Stitchin' Mission are those who are home-schooled and such is the case with Elizabeth.
Elizabeth and her mother not only made and donated Stitchin' Mission quilts - see them here - but Elizabeth made this pin cushion following my Round Pin Cushion tutorial (at left). Isn't it cute?
This is a talented young lady whose future will surely continue to include sewing and crafting.
If you click this link, you can read Elizabeth's post about her pin cushion. Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth!Starting Tuesday evening, for the twenty-first time, I'll lead the five-lesson series of beginner quiltmaking lessons - called Stitchin' Mission. We have a big group learning quiltmaking at a Baptist church. Forty newbie quilters have registered thus far. Praise God. Prayers are appreciated too!
Love hearing positive things about our young people. Enjoy your teaching, you have alot to offer.
ReplyDeleteI always love hearing about young people learning crafts. My 12 year old daughter has been xstitching and rug hooking for a little bit, but just took up sewing this weekend and she loves it. I also taught my son to crochet too. He'll never do it as he gets older but not for lack of mom trying.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is she?! And such a lovely blog. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteOh, Linda, thank you for the kind, sweet post! I always enjoy reading your recent posts about quilting and we are so very grateful for Stitchin' Mission!
ReplyDeleteJoyfully in Jesus,
Elizabeth
