Drunkard's Path Templates

    I'm not sure if any one has ever won a contest after being the first one to enter....but, I'll go first anyway! I'd like to have the dresden plate template...never tried that block and have been seeing some beautiful ones out there in blogland.     Just did a lovely long comment, but as soon as I pressed Post Comment, it disappeared. :( I was saying how blogger was behaving for me tonight. It doesn't usually.
    I mainly machine piece, but have recently got hooked on hexagons. Loving the hand piecing! :)

    I considered spending money on a Go cutter, but then I realized that I actually enjoy cutting pieces as much as any other aspect of quilting and more than some aspects. I am making a square in a square postage stamp quilt with tiny pieces. My hubby cut me acrylic templates to cut those. Many hours of cutting have gone into that quilt. And piecing - although I do them as leaders and enders. I would love to win the Drunkards Path templates. It may be the only way I ever make one of these quilts.

    Working on my 1st one.EVER. Right now :)

    Was just thinking a trip to fabric store for some of those templates before I test another size. I need to do a deeper search for my smaller rotary cutter. I know I saw it recently...

    And in answer to hand piecing - I love to handpiece. My last few quilts have mostly been by hand as I dont need more big quick quilts and I like the process of cutting templates, drawing them and having a quiet time sewing them together and watching a quilt grow. I am a Hexagon Queen and have made several quilts using hexagons. I use some plastic templates but missing in my collection are some drunkards path. I have a book of patterns they could make up but never got around to using it - maybe if I won some I could. PS I love the block you added - that layout would never have occurred to me.

    Re the floods and devastation here in Australia ... it just seems to keep on coming, at the moment. Luckily all of our friends in the affected areas have come through all right.

    Well as much as I would LOVE to be a fan of machine piecing, I am without a machine, so I am going to have to go with.. Hand piecing.. LOL. I do find it relaxing to sit in front of the television and watch a show, and stitch away. I am currently working on a Hexagon quilt as well as a new venture into applique..which I find beautiful, and fascinating!

    Thanks for this opportunity! Making a Drunkard's path quilt is on my list! I love the look of handwork, but due to tendinities in my wrists, I depend on my machine to do the work. I have also fallen in love with the tumbler shape. It makes an interesting background for appliqued pieces. Thanks again!

    I was just looking at a curved piece block this weekend, thinking about whether I could take that on, and if it would work for this idea I've had percolating in my brain. The drunkard's path template would be perfect!

    I do both machine and hand piecing. Usually hand piecing for small pieces that cannot machine sew or need special "fitting". My mother wants to make a drunkards block quilt and I would like to make a circle quilt. Please enter us into your great giveaway. The other template that might be on my list is hexagon.     You know how addicted to hand piecing I am! I've travelled the world with scraps of fabric always at the ready for a quiet stitch wherever I find myself killing time.     Oh please count me in. I do love the drunkard's path quilt. I made a small one once and the fabrics resembled what you would see in cowboy shirts, so instead of Drunkards Path, I called mine Happy Trails :)

    I love hand piecing and machine piecing and just about any kind of handwork there is.

    Curves...one thing that scares me to try. I have an awesome pattern for drunkards path that I've been too terrified of to try...perhaps these would be the key to overcoming my fears!

    Hi Linda, I prefer handpiecing, it is so relaxing.:)
    I have had a look at the template sets. the jelly roll ones are great! I think for a single template, I would like hexagon or tumbler. I have enjoyed reading your blog, and looking at the lovely applique blocks, I am now a follower.     I've made some Drunkard's Path blocks and used them as a border on a quilt and I absolutely loved it. I've got a photo clipped out of a magazine of a full Drunkard's Path quilt that I'd like to make one day. These templates sure would make it easier...thanks for the chance to win!

    Hi Linda
    I was going to write and say Congrats on the slippers. I bought Homespun today, and lo and behold there were your slippers. Very nice.
    Now about the piecing - for me there is room for both, but at the moment I am enjoying handpiecing my hexies, and my smaller hexagon quilt.
