Drunkard's Path Templates

Don't you think it's fun to enter a giveaway? Well, thanks to Baycreek Quilting in Oregon, I’m sharing the fun by hosting a giveaway now through Sunday, February 13. Two winners will be selected!

Baycreek Quilting specializes in making sturdy, 1/8" thick, laser-cut acrylic templates. Baycreek's rotary cutting templates are available in a variety of shapes - angles, curves, one-patch shapes, applique designs and quilting designs.

If you're a quilter who has been struck by hexie madness take a look as these hexagon options.
Don't miss a look at Joseph's Coat templates either!

Drunkard's Path
Two people will be randomly selected to win a set of Drunkard's Path acrylic templates. That's two pieces each, of 3", 4", 5" and 6" templates! A $30 value!

This is an international giveaway! Everyone has a chance to win.

For one entry: Comment. That's it. Say whatever's on your mind, or answer one or both of these questions: "What template or single patch shape would you like to have? Do you prefer machine-piecing or hand-piecing, or is there a place for both in your life?"

You might already know I'm a fan of hand-piecing. It's so portable and relaxing! See my projects here.

For another entry: Post about this giveaway on your own blog. Then come back here and comment to let me know you've done that.

As a bonus, bonus, bonus...
Between now and Sunday, February 13, if you place an order from Baycreek Quilting, you will receive free shipping, and that means anywhere in the world. How wonderful is that?!

To receive free shipping, just type "Flourishing Palms" in the comments section of your on-line order, or mention "Flourishing Palms" if you phone-in (US only) your order: 541-888-2838.

Could it be you who'll win a set of Drunkard's Path templates to cut and piece a pretty block like this?
Note: I'll have to draw another winner if your comments appear as noreply-comment@blogger.com. It means I have no way to email you to tell you you've won. To check your settings, follow this path: Dashboard; Edit Profile; "Show my email address;" Save Profile.

  1. I'm not sure if any one has ever won a contest after being the first one to enter....but, I'll go first anyway! I'd like to have the dresden plate template...never tried that block and have been seeing some beautiful ones out there in blogland. Thanks for the chance to win the drunkard path templates...that's another one I've not made!

  2. Just did a lovely long comment, but as soon as I pressed Post Comment, it disappeared. :( I was saying how blogger was behaving for me tonight. It doesn't usually.
I mainly machine piece, but have recently got hooked on hexagons. Loving the hand piecing! :)

  4. Hmmm...I'm not very creative on this particular Friday... but I do love me some Drunkard Path blocks, these templates would come in handy!

  5. I'd love to win any of the curved templates. At the moment, I just avoid curves all together. Those templates look just fabulous.

  6. I've never used templates before as they seem pretty complicated & I'm just starting out. I'll give it a try though should I be the lucky winner. Thanks for the chance to win! :)

  7. I considered spending money on a Go cutter, but then I realized that I actually enjoy cutting pieces as much as any other aspect of quilting and more than some aspects. I am making a square in a square postage stamp quilt with tiny pieces. My hubby cut me acrylic templates to cut those. Many hours of cutting have gone into that quilt. And piecing - although I do them as leaders and enders. I would love to win the Drunkards Path templates. It may be the only way I ever make one of these quilts.

  8. This is a sweet giveaway! I've done a few projects with piecing and have always, always wanted to do a drunkards path wall hanging - winning this would be a great incentive.

  9. Googling Drunkards Path looking for design alternatives...found you! Fingers crossed!
Working on my 1st one.EVER. Right now :)

Was just thinking a trip to fabric store for some of those templates before I test another size. I need to do a deeper search for my smaller rotary cutter. I know I saw it recently...

  10. I have posted about your giveaway on my blog Linda.

And in answer to hand piecing - I love to handpiece. My last few quilts have mostly been by hand as I dont need more big quick quilts and I like the process of cutting templates, drawing them and having a quiet time sewing them together and watching a quilt grow. I am a Hexagon Queen and have made several quilts using hexagons. I use some plastic templates but missing in my collection are some drunkards path. I have a book of patterns they could make up but never got around to using it - maybe if I won some I could. PS I love the block you added - that layout would never have occurred to me.

Re the floods and devastation here in Australia ... it just seems to keep on coming, at the moment. Luckily all of our friends in the affected areas have come through all right.

  14. Although the Drunkard' Path has always been one of my favorite quilt blocks, the thought of making my own templates has always deterred me. These acrylic templates are a great idea.

  18. Well as much as I would LOVE to be a fan of machine piecing, I am without a machine, so I am going to have to go with.. Hand piecing.. LOL. I do find it relaxing to sit in front of the television and watch a show, and stitch away. I am currently working on a Hexagon quilt as well as a new venture into applique..which I find beautiful, and fascinating!

  21. Thanks for this opportunity! Making a Drunkard's path quilt is on my list! I love the look of handwork, but due to tendinities in my wrists, I depend on my machine to do the work. I have also fallen in love with the tumbler shape. It makes an interesting background for appliqued pieces. Thanks again!

  22. I was just looking at a curved piece block this weekend, thinking about whether I could take that on, and if it would work for this idea I've had percolating in my brain. The drunkard's path template would be perfect!

  27. I do both machine and hand piecing. Usually hand piecing for small pieces that cannot machine sew or need special "fitting". My mother wants to make a drunkards block quilt and I would like to make a circle quilt. Please enter us into your great giveaway. The other template that might be on my list is hexagon. Thanks for the opportunity. alternate email mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

I was going to write and say Congrats on the slippers. I bought Homespun today, and lo and behold there were your slippers. Very nice.

I would love to win the Josephs Coat templates. Thanks for making it International.
