Ribbons

This morning I headed to our local area Quilting Guild of The Villages "Showcase of Quilts" preview to see what my quilts won.

I saw a first place blue ribbon for "Always Add Orange," the quilt I made for Curated Quilts magazine/journal that was selected for publication in their triangle issue.

Interestingly, the quilt right above mine was made by my neighbor, Becky. We're very good friends, and I consulted with her when she was choosing values for this lovely transparency quilt!

For "Urban Trek," a pattern by Heather Black (Quiltachusetts), I received an honorable mention. I still like this design, and think it would be fantastic in many other color combinations.

Winners received pins like this, so when I return to visit the entire show, I'll be wearing mine!

Please visit my blog again on Saturday! I'm celebrating 10 years of blogging, and you know what that means. Linda

    1. Thanks very much, Debbie! (Did you know you're a "no-reply commenter"? It was a very nice quilt show. Lots of traditional quilts, with our little category of modern. I'm glad to have my quilts at home again, and to read judges comments!

  13. Just got a chance to get back to catching up on my blog reading. Congratulations on your two ribbons. You look so cute standing by your quilts. Also, read about your temperature quilt. I love your block and the way you are positioning them. Wish I had time to make one. Our temps went from -9 one day this week to 60 degrees tomorrow! That will make some wild colors!
